Woodland Owner Webinars: Forestry for Bats
Bat populations are seeing a rapid decline due to habitat loss and white-nose syndrome. WI DNR is actively working to conserve the bat populations but woodland owners also play an integral role. Sarah Herrick, a conservation Biologist for the Bureau of Natural Heritage Conservation will talk about bat friendly silviculture practices and what the DNR is doing to help our bat populations, then hop over the St. Croix River and listen to Rich P. Courtemanche, land commissioner at Aitkin County Land Department in Minnesota to talk about their Habitat Conservation Program for the Northern Long Eared Bat and the Little Brown Bat.
