In this year-long community of connection, featuring a new topic each month, sessions will be built to encourage self-reflection, increase knowledge of MTSS and Community Schools, challenge our thinking about current systems, and offer dedicated time to action planning and Q&A.
Presented by: The NYSED Central/Western Region Community Schools Technical Assistance Center
As school and community leaders continue to navigate a difficult year and plan for the future, the task of taking care of themselves and their teams as well as sustaining strong partnerships remains a challenge. Helping staff develop their SEL skillset will encourage personal growth as well as learning opportunities for application with students and families. Join us as we model activities and discuss strategies to connect core components of SEL with foundational principles of the MTSS framework and a community schools approach.
Participants can expect to:
1. Explore tools that help staff grow within the 5 core SEL competencies (as outlined by CASEL).
2. Discuss ways to build meaningful, sustainable practices that support and prioritize SEL.
3. Reflect on systems and practices that are critical to take forward into 2021 and beyond.
