The 2021 Built Green new construction checklists introduced a new section of equity and social justice credits and requirements for certification. This webinar will provide information on the section’s development process. Followed by a deeper dive of each credit’s intent, implementation examples, and required documentation. At the end, there will be an open Q & A session to address more project or organizational specific implementation questions.

Sonja O’Claire, Built Green Program Manager at MBAKS
Sonja O’Claire supports the Built Green program by overseeing its development, project certification reviews, and increasing its value to members and their projects. She brings with her more than a decade of experience across the AEC community, having worked with general contractors, subcontractors, engineers, architects, and municipalities. Sonja earned a MBA in Sustainable Solutions from Presidio Graduate School. She is also a Certified Sustainable Building Advisor.
Patricia Lally, Director at Racial Equity Works
At Racial Equity Works, Patricia works with organizations and institutions to develop, strengthen and support a commitment to deepening an awareness of race and social justice. She assists individuals and teams to understand their respective roles in eliminating racial inequities within their workforce, services, partnerships and communities. She is convinced that eliminating disparities and achieving racial equity in our communities means dismantling the institutional and structural barriers that impact Black, Indigenous and people of color. To that end, Patricia provides presentations, trainings, workshops and consultation to examine racial inequity in its various forms.
