The U.S. Mission to Greece, the Institute of International Relations of Panteion University, the Institute of Global Affairs of The American College of Greece, and the University of Macedonia invite you to join a two-day webinar with Prof. Matthew Kroenig, Deputy Director for Strategy at the Scowcroft Center for Strategy and Security at the Atlantic Council, and Professor at the Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University. Prof. Kroenig will be joined by Harry Papasotiriou, Professor of International Politics at Panteion University and Director of the Institute of International Relations of Panteion Univerity; Constantinos Filis, Executive Director of the Institute of International Relations of Panteion University, and Instructor at Deree – The American College of Greece; and Kalliope (Ilia) Chainoglou, Assistant Professor, Department of International and European Studies at the University of Macedonia. The discussion will cover current developments and emerging global threats to European and Transatlantic security posed by authoritarian policies. It will also focus on U.S. policies and leadership in countering those threats, and supporting democracies and international cooperation. This webinar will include an interactive discussion with audience members. The event will be conducted in English.
Prof. Matthew Kroenig is the Deputy Director for Strategy at the Scowcroft Center for Strategy and Security at the Atlantic Council, and a Professor at the Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University. His areas of expertise include U.S. foreign policy; great power competition with China and Russia; and strategic deterrence and weapons nonproliferation. Prof. Kroenig has served in several positions in the U.S. Department of Defense and the intelligence community.
