Investigating the barriers and facilitators to the adoption and implementation of injury prevention exercise programs
This presentation will cover the barriers and facilitators to the implementation of evidence-based injury prevention exercise programs by describing the current literature on this topic. Additionally, the speakers will provide suggestions directed towards researchers, clinicians, and administrators on ways to improve the implementation rates and sustained use of these programs in non-elite athletic settings.

About the speakers:
Molly Minnig, PhD Student, Department of Epidemiology at the Gillings School of Global Public Health, UNC-Chapel Hill

Yvonne Golightly, PT, MS, PhD, the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Allied Health Professions

Molly Minnig is a 3rd year PhD student in the Department of Epidemiology at the Gillings School of Global Public Health. Molly completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Pennsylvania and her Masters of Science in Global Health at Duke University. Molly’s research interests are in injury epidemiology, with topics ranging from community-level injury prevention strategies, sports medicine, to topics in the musculoskeletal imaging field.

Yvonne Golightly is an epidemiologist and a physical therapist who is a Professor of Physical Therapy and the Assistant Dean for Research at the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Allied Health Professions. She also is a faculty member of the University of North Carolina’s Thurston Arthritis Research Center and is co-Director of Research for the Osteoarthritis Action Alliance. Her research focuses on osteoarthritis, musculoskeletal injury, and physical activity.
