Empathy and Solidarity at Scale: Courageous Leadership in the Year Ahead
In an uncertain world, we can predict with 100% confidence that the school year ahead will require swift but careful, decisive but circumspect educational leadership. Courageous leadership is being redefined by these competencies; and, asking (the right people, the right questions), listening (deeply, openly, and without judgment), and responding (to let people know you’ve heard them and to share your action plan), are the key courage indicators.

In this session, Dr. Peter Gorman, Ian Saltzman, Superintendent of Everett School District, WA, Ayinde Rudolph, Superintendent of Mountain View Whisman, CA, and Andy Krenz, Director of Education at Thoughtexchange, will share perspectives on courageous leadership for the year ahead, with an eye on mental health. We’ll use Thoughtexchange’s crowdsourcing software to ask, listen, and respond to you in real-time, modeling the very competency leaders like you simply must master this year.
