Liberating Dance Practices with Amelia Uzategui Bonilla
*Thursdays*  20:00 Central European Time
Schedule until July 28th 2022
- restarts in September 2022

*Class Info*
Amelia uses an improvisation, score-based, somatic approach in the facilitation of this weekly sit-down and connect, then get-up and get-moving online class. One hour of movement is followed by 10 minutes of group sharing and reflection.

Though each class is unique, they usually begin with seated, verbally guided, follow-along movement exercises, engaging the different movements related to the torso and using imagery from the environment and anatomical drawings.

Upon standing, citing dances that were re-interpreted and recreated in the Afro-Peruvian cultural revival movements of the second half of the 20th century, this class invites movers to engage with their creative selves, finding their own way of dancing to polyrhythmic music.

Our dances have the potential to source feeling and sensation to the point of overriding society's imposed logics. You are most welcome to take this time to stop thinking and make a personal intention to liberate yourself, as you want, through your movement, your medicine.
