Organizing and Mobilizing in the Age of Connectivity: Building Networks to Transform Social Change Work: Introductions, Tour, and a Coffee.
What do Harry Potter and organizing support for your cause have in common? Did you finally break down and rent a shared service, ride, or apartment? Where did all the remote / gig workers come from? The chances are that you too have been swept up in someone’s networking campaign. The tools for outreach and communication are not the only thing changing. There is a shift in logic that comes with these changes and offers new strategies for leaders and organizations.

Netcentric Campaigns is organizing this online work session to share campaigns, talk about organizing efforts, and swap stories. This online discussion provides an overall context that helps people organizing networks to make sense of it all.

The presentation opens the discussions about the mechanics and careful approaches network building for an advocacy purpose. It will be an interactive session/discussion that inspires interest in new techniques for organizing and building support for your organizing and issue. Participants will be asked to share some of their work experiences, network insights, and background.

Netcentric Campaigns will provide an overview of our work, the free tools, services available, and introduce ways we approach network building. Participants will leave with an understanding of the forces reshaping the organizing landscape.

Participants will learn how a network-centric approach shift advocacy planning and outcomes. As well as what free tools, training, and services Netcentric Campaigns offers to support network managers. Participants will think about the networks they depend on to create social change and explore concrete steps they can implement to reach partners, new and old. They will assess the fit of the Netcentric Campaigns approach, methods, and tools to their unique needs.
