Building a Community of Connection and Impact - Data, Systems, Practices: Then, now, and in the future.
In this year-long community of connection, featuring a new topic each month, sessions will be built to encourage self-reflection, increase knowledge of MTSS and Community Schools, challenge our thinking about current systems, and offer dedicated time to action planning and Q&A.
Presented by: The NYSED Central/Western Region Community Schools Technical Assistance Center
Topic: Data, Systems, Practices: Then, now, and in the future.
Join us to take a closer look at data that can be used to identify youth who need more social, emotional, behavioral, and mental health support than what is offered universally. We will explore systems that have worked in the past and should be continued into the future, and think critically about creating a universal level of support that is strong enough to meet the needs of 80% of the students and staff. It is not easy work, but these efforts have never been more important.
Participants can expect to leave with:
1. Examples of data points that can be used to identify youth and/or staff who need more support than the universal layer
2. An understanding of the critical features of MTSS and Tier 1, and considerations for how to reinforce and strengthen existing systems while planning for sustainability
3. A better understanding of basic Tier 1 features and how to apply the concepts of the effectives practices, even in such uncertain circumstances
4. Action steps for going back and pushing the work forward
*Please note the allotted time for this session is 2 hours, but participants do not need to participate in the entire meeting. The last 20-30 minutes will be dedicated to Q & A, and we will follow-up with any relevant resources. We hope you will join us for any amount of time that is feasible for you.
