Read for Change: Using Literacy to Fight Racism is a discussion group striving to explain and understand inequality through close readings of nonfiction texts and discussions on racial issues and social justice. Join us on this journey of discovery and growth as we look to expand our knowledge to fight racism.

This month we will be discussing 3 of the 8 pillars from Isabel Wilkerson’s “Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents”. You can find the title through our catalog online or by calling your local branch.

February 16th discussion: Caste and Heritability, Endogamy and the Control of Marriage.
February 23rd discussion: Caste and Divine Will and the Laws of Nature.
