*LESSON START TIME IS 3:15PM SHARP*
This June, to celebrate the endangered Southern Resident orcas during Orca Action Month, Orca Network & the Langley Whale Center Youth Team are hosting a youth mini-series! Each Wednesday in June we will have a short lesson about a different aspect of the Southern Resident orca community followed by an interactive activity. Get to know why they are so unique, learn their names and about their families, and discover how similar orca families are to human families!
June 2nd – Who are the Southern Residents?
June 9th – Identification Methods
June 16th – Southern Resident Families and Your Family
June 23rd – Endangered, Threats, and Extinction
June 30th – Become a Citizen Scientist: Learn How to Report Whales!
*By registering for this Zoom mini-series, Zoom will send you ONE link for access to ALL 5 CLASSES. PLEASE SAVE THAT ZOOM EMAIL to sign in each week. A reminder email will be sent to registered participants the day before each event takes place. Please email Amanda Colbert - firstname.lastname@example.org should you have any questions. *LENGTH - 3:15PM-4PM PST.
*Most of these lessons are geared to our younger youth but we have had middle, high school, college students, teachers, and biologists join in the fun. There is something for everyone in these lessons. Hope to "see" you there!
