Afternoons at the Aquarium: Horseshoe Crabs
What is that animal you see crawling out of the sea? Is it a stingray? Is it an alien? No! It’s a horseshoe crab. Horseshoe crabs are wonderfully weird and important animals found in our coastal ecosystems. Meet a live horseshoe crab and learn about these gentle animals and their unique physical characteristics during this virtual program.

This program is part of the Aquarium Afternoons series. Every Thursday in June and July, marine educators at the UGA Aquarium will host family programs designed to inspire wonder and curiosity about the coast. Activities and topics covered each week are different. Programs may include a mix of games, art, stories and live animal encounters that provide fun learning experiences about the ocean. Children of all ages are welcome, but activities are designed for ages 4-8 years old with an accompanying adult.

For each session downloadable activity sheets will also be available with ideas to get you and your family exploring coastal topics at home. Activity sheets will be added to the event posting on our website the day before the program.
