Join Newsday garden columnist Jessica Damiano on an inspiring historical tour of the White House gardens, from the founding of our nation to the present day.

Jessica Damiano is a journalist with more than 25 years' experience in radio, television, print and online media, including 15 as Newsday's garden columnist. She's also a gardening coach, master gardener, public speaker, community educator and author. Jessica enjoys toiling in her garden -- an ongoing work in progress -- and helping local gardeners solve their horticultural problems in The Weekly Dirt email newsletter, which is sent to hundreds of subscribers every Sunday. Jessica lives on the North Shore of Long Island with her husband and dog, and a whole bunch of perennials, vegetable plants and weeds.
