Coalition on Addictions
This month's Coalition on Addictions topic is "Tobacco Control in San Mateo County," by Mayra Diaz Ramirez with the San Mateo County Health Tobacco Prevention Program.

This presentation will give an overview of the current status of tobacco control in San Mateo County (SMC), and the presenter will discuss the history of smoke-free multi-unit housing (MUH) in SMC. In addition to explaining the MUH policy, several cities have adopted a variety of tobacco control policies such as tobacco-free pharmacies, policies to prohibit sales of flavored tobacco and e-cigarettes, and policies that require tobacco retailers to apply for a tobacco retail license (TRL) in order to sell tobacco products. The presenter will also describe how the SMC Tobacco Education Coalition is dedicated to addressing tobacco retail-related issues through advocacy and education.

One CEU contact hour certificate is available for $5.00.

The COA (Coalition on Addictions) is a networking/continuing education program for those who work in the local substance use field, as well as students and interested others. The COA is a program of PreventEd.
