Ward 5 Townhall - Fix Crummell Now
Ivy city is one of DC's oldest black communities, founded in 1872.
the Alexander Crummell School opened in 1911 and served as the heart of ward 5's Ivy City community until it was closed in 1977.

Since then, Ivy City residents have advocated for the restoration and reopening of Crummell as a needed community center, park and play space for area residents.

Join us to learn more about this longstanding fight for equitable access to community amenities, & to honor and preserve community history amid rapid gentrification. Ivy City needs your support - find out how you can help.
