“Texas Futures Virtual Reality Experience” [Team: Fernanda Leite (project lead – CAEE), Megan (MJ) Johns (Arts & Entertainment Technologies), and Andrew Solis (TACC)]
“Hurricane-Resilient Healthcare Infrastructure Modeling with Integrated Flood Prediction and Stochastic Logistics Optimization” [Team: Erhan Kutanoglu (Mechanical Engineering), Zong-Liang Yang (JGS), and John Hasenbein (Mechanical Engineering)]
The Kutanoglu-led team combines logistical and hurricane predictive modelling to help the healthcare system of SE Texas be prepared and resilient in the face of hurricanes. The Texas Metro Observatory team led by Katherine Lieberknecht will present on their communication and data platform dedicated to sharing information (economic, environmental, health, demographic, governmental, etc.) about the metropolitan regions of Texas. The Texas Futures Virtual Reality Experience, led by Fernanda Leite, has taken some of TMO’s data and reports to create VR environmental educational games. They will present on what they have created.
