Fentanyl Everywhere..., presented by Dr. Stephen Thornton

As the opioid epidemic continues to evolve, we have not entered a stage where synthetic opioids, particularly fentanyl, predominate. Due to its high potency, overdose and death is a significant risk. Furthermore, other drugs of abuse are being mixed or adulterated with fentanyl, raising the risk of overdosing even more. This presentation will describe the history of fentanyl, its toxicity and the treatment for both acute overdoses and for opioid use disorder.
