The New York Health Act is a bill in the state legislature that will guarantee comprehensive healthcare to all New York State residents, regardless of immigration and employment status, by establishing a universal, single-payer health system in New York. Achieving universal healthcare is a necessary step in the struggle for racial justice and equitable economic recovery.
In this forum we will discuss our strategy for passing the New York Health Act in 2021 and hear from diverse constituencies of New York Health Act supporters, representing the spectrum of arguments for single-payer, universal healthcare in New York State. This forum will prepare attendees to participate in our March 23 Healthcare Worker, Resident and Student Virtual Lobby Day, when we will meet with key legislators to expand support for the New York Health Act.
