This web conference will share the importance of creating partnerships with the labor sector and workers to empower change from within. Using the janitorial cleaning industries and migrant community workers in California and across the country as a role model help end sexual assault and sexual harassment in the workplace, the web conference will highlight the links between sexual violence, economic justice, and gender equality, and will provide examples of work done by unions to reduce sexual violence and change workplace culture in the janitorial industry, where a large percentage of the workforce is low-wage immigrant women. With a focus on survivor/worker voices, the web conference is intended for advocates and organizations that are interested in and have the capacity of building partnerships with industries and businesses to help end sexual assault and sexual harassment in the workplace.
