Safety is about more than the hardening of schools. It is creating social, emotional, intellectual, and physical safety for students (and staff) from the inside out through awareness, building embedded social-emotional skills, and utilizing a ProSocial Ecosystem to build a culture of caring and Trauma Readiness.
New research on the effects of the pandemic show spikes in anxiety and depression which will greatly affect our California school communities. Being Trauma Ready is critical for our school communities and must be a living, breathing, embedded part of a school culture to help develop safety and wellness.
This session will provide specific insights into the newest research on trauma and social-emotional wellness, provide resources to build capacity among teachers, and share best practices to ensure that your classroom is Trauma Ready!
