Phi Beta Kappa Delaware Valley Virtual Movie Club
Virtual discussion of the film, "Roma", 2019 Academy Award winner for Best International Film, Best Director, and Best Cinematography. The film was written and directed by aclaimed director Alfonso Cuaron as a semi-autobiographical take on his upbringing in the Colonia Roma neighborhood of Mexico City, from the point of view of a live-in housekeeper with a middle-class family.  A cinematic "tour-de-force", the film explores the nuances of class divisions, the impact of a divorce on children, and the nature of altruistic love, featuring actresses Yalitza Aparicio as the housekeeper, and Marina de Tavira as the wife. View on Netflix. No charge event.
