Conscience Matters: Transitional Justice and Religious Leaders
The inclusion of religious leaders in transitional justice processes can lead to more widespread acceptance and greater impact. Rather than assuming that religious leaders will act as figureheads, however, policymakers and practitioners should consider the wide array of innovative roles that faith-based actors can play in supporting transitional justice goals while recognizing the potential risks associated with their involvement.

Join the Coalition's Sarah Case, Deputy Program Director: Global Transitional Justice Initiative, and Diana Naoum, Program Manager: Deputy Program Director: Global Transitional Justice Initiative, featuring Felix Dara of Destiny Farm International in South Sudan, Ioana Cismas of the Centre for Applied Human Rights in the UK, and Reverend Mbaraza Emmanuel of Faith Aid Initiative for Humanity in South Sudan for an opportunity to learn about the involvement of religious leaders in transitional justice processes and creative ways to engage religious leaders in support of truth-telling, justice, and healing.
