Do we need an IP valuation? :: IPDRF :: OxFirst
In the landmark decision of Huawei v ZTE, the CJEU requests an adequate explanation for a licensing offer. This approach might differ from the historic practice of license negotiations, which by and large succeeded without IP valuation - an economic explanation of the IP‘s value. In the wake of Huawei v ZTE, the correct determination of a license rate has been the focal point of many SEP-disputes before state courts. In spite of that, IP valuation remains scarce.

What role do IP Valuation methods play in IP transactions?
Is there a need to value IP economically or can markets continue as before?
What are the consequences of introducing an IP valuation in IP disputes before state courts?
