What do you picture when you think of a shark? During this program we will learn about and draw different sharks and rays found in Georgia. Participants will also get a sneak peak at baby clearnose skates at the UGA aquarium.
Special note: We will feature a selection of shark artwork created by children during our live presentation. For your child’s artwork to be considered for inclusion in the presentation, email a picture of their artwork to the public programs coordinator, Kayla Clark, email@example.com by July 28.
This program is part of the Aquarium Afternoons series. Every Thursday in June and July, marine educators at the UGA Aquarium will host family programs designed to inspire wonder and curiosity about the coast. Activities and topics covered each week are different. Programs may include a mix of games, art, stories and live animal encounters that provide fun learning experiences about the ocean. Children of all ages are welcome, but activities are designed for ages 4-8 years old with an accompanying adult.
For each session downloadable activity sheets will also be available with ideas to get you and your family exploring coastal topics at home. Activity sheets will be added to the event posting on our website the day before the program.
