Facilitated by Women with Disabilities Victoria, this is a free online training opportunity for Together For Equality and Respect (TFER) partner organisations.
The training is a part of the Margins to the Mainstream: preventing violence against women with disabilities project led by Women’s Health East and funded by the Commonwealth Department of Social Services.

The training aims to build disability inclusion of prevention of violence against women (PVAW) activities and organisational processes, in alignment with the TFER Regional Action Plan.
By the end of the session, participants will have a greater understanding of:
• Aspects of the intersectional lived experience of women with disabilities
• Barriers to inclusion
• The social and human rights models of disability
• Prevalence and prevention of violence against women with disabilities
• Drivers of violence against women with disabilities and essential actions for its prevention
Who should attend?
This training is designed for TFER partner organisations in the Eastern Metropolitan region of Melbourne, including but not limited to those working in health promotion, community development, health and support services, women’s health, community health and local government, who want to build their capacity to deliver prevention of violence against women with disabilities projects and embed accessible practice within their work.
