Jane Przeslica returns to Center for Senior Enrichment with her presentation on Ledger Art: Artistry Of The Plains Indians.
The 1800s brought about dramatic changes to American Indian people throughout North America. Greater contact with non-natives, introduced native peoples to new materials including-ledger paper. Continuing a long tradition of recording important events on animal hide and stone, Plains Indian people
began to use ledger paper as an art canvas and, in doing so, left an extensive visual history of their traditional culture.
