This 2022 edition of Global Classroom focuses on Internal Displacement. The vast majority of people who flee their homes to escape conflict, violence and disasters do not cross an international border. Of the 70.8 million people forcibly displaced around the world, 50.8 million are internally displaced people. They are the invisible majority. The research aims at better understanding the needs and resources of specific groups of internally displaced people, including children, women, men, youth, older people, members of minority groups and people with disabilities. The objective is to identify policies and support options that can best respond to the different impacts of displacement these groups experience.
