The death of George Floyd in the custody of Minneapolis police on Memorial Day 2020 set off more than a week of protests, riots and general unrest that saw the destruction of more than 1,000 buildings and whole city blocks.
As the city burned and protests raged day after day, Minneapolis native and IABC Minnesota member Paul Omodt assembled a group of veteran crisis communicators to assist state and local officials in developing communications strategy and tactics.
Join IABC San Diego on Thursday, January 28 as Paul Omodt shares his experience. Learn how this group of crisis communicators became a critical part of the State’s command structure and provided the skills and guidance needed to begin returning peace to the city of Minneapolis.
