This session will provide an introduction to the School Health Assessment and Performance Evaluation (SHAPE) System for the purposes of baseline self-assessment by schools and districts of their existing mental health systems. The session will also include an overview of the overall program and calendar for professional development associated with school mental health provided by BRYT, MASMHC, and the Rennie Center, helping participants plan out next steps for addressing the needs uncovered in their self-assessment.
As a result of this PD series, participants will be able to:
- Map out the resources currently available within their school or district for building a system to support student mental health
- Engage in an initial needs assessment of their school’s/district’s mental health system using the SHAPE System framework
- Describe the planned content, opportunities for participation (at different levels of intensity), and intended outcomes/tangible products of future professional development opportunities
