COVID-19 has brought with it many unprecedented challenges, particularly regarding the impacts on older people. Volunteerism has become a critical pillar of community support, with many older people contributing to the COVID-19 response. Following a remarkable outpouring of support from volunteers in Wales, Ms. Ruth Marks, Chief Executive of Wales Council for Voluntary Action looks ahead to life after lockdown and explores practices that must be continued in the voluntary sector in the future.
