This program will support local community and civic leaders in discussing the links between climate, people and our community; the spectrum of solutions; speaking effectively on the topic; and opportunities to act and advocate from a Charlotte and North Carolina perspective. The training will equip civic leaders and community advocates with knowledge, hands-on experience, and resources to speak and act confidently on climate change and solutions. It will include information on local climate action, and the City of Charlotte’s Strategic Energy Action Plan (SEAP), as well as on the state of North Carolina and its climate and energy initiatives.
With this training, and a cohort of like-minded leaders, ambassadors will be able to engage their communities, colleagues, the public, voters and policymakers to inspire climate solutions that help protect our families and communities now, and ensure a prosperous, just, and secure future.
The full training will take place Sep. 30 - Oct. 1, with both sessions running from 4:00 - 5:30pm EDT each day.
