Description
"If you build it they will come" is sadly, no longer a viable option for games businesses. With over 19,000 games released on Steam alone in 2024, it's more important than ever to build your own audience when growing a game studio. A large, engaged audience significantly increases your chances of success and makes your project and business more desirable to publishers and investors. But how is this possible for independent teams, when you're busy enough already making the game?! In this workshop we'll explore the strategies, channels, and tools available to *efficiently* start attracting and engaging an audience and even how to make the process fun! Breaking Stealth and Getting Noticed is a 4 Part Series taking place every Tuesday starting 11 March. Each Week the speakers will tackle a different element: Session 1 - Audience - Tuesday 11 March 2025 at 2pm Understanding audiences and tribes, identifying niches, behaviours and objectives. Who are your people? Session 2 - Brand - Tuesday 18 March 2025 at 2pm Understanding where you're at and what you want to be known for. What is "your thing"? Session 3 - Content - Tuesday 25 March 2025 at 2pm Types of content, platforms, volume and frequency. Where do you play? Session 4 - Decisions - Tuesday 1 April 2025 at 2pm Making a plan, being intentional, defining actions. Who are you going to be? Facilitators: Dan Thomas - Games business advisor, former founder and owner of games marketing agency Etch Play Jonas Gawe - Community & Events lead, former Into Games, current Program Manager at Limit Break Mentorship
