Patrick (Allan) Hanley retired from the Bureau of Indian Affairs as the Rocky Mountain Regional Supervisory Rangeland Management Specialist. He assisted with the development of the grazing regulations in 25 Code of Federal Regulations - Indians Part 166. He was the team leader for developing Indian Agricultural Lands Trespass regulations. He is very familiar with the American Indian Agricultural Resource Management Act (AIARMA) that gives statutory authority to Indian tribes and Alaska villages to enact rules for Indian agricultural lands within their political jurisdiction. AIARMA is the only Congressional Act that provides financial resources for an area-wide management plan for Indian agricultural lands. This webinar will discuss tribal self-determination and resolutions that tribes and Alaska villages should consider passing to exercise their sovereignty.
