Description: The start of a new school year can be challenging for all children, and even more so for children who stutter. Parents of CWS frequently worry about potential teasing and bullying and how to best support their child. This presentation will explore strategies for children, their parents, and teachers to help CWS feel empowered to fully participate in school without fear of ridicule or misunderstanding.

Bio: Heather Grossman, PhD is the Director of the American Institute for Stuttering and has worked with individuals who stutter for over 30 years. She has taught stuttering at numerous Universities and is an extremely active member of the stuttering self-help community. She is a regular presenter at both national and international stuttering conferences.
